Tunku Kamarul

Assalamulaikum and Salam Sejahtera,

Welcome to the Office of the Deputy Dean of Research in Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya (UM).

This office carries the responsibility of managing and facilitating research activities within the Faculty of Medicine. Being the largest faculty in UM with more than 400 academic staff, this office, with the help of the Health and Translational Medicine Research Cluster (HTMC) work hand in hand to ensure that the productivity and research output in this faculty remains high, maintaining a long tradition of producing high quality research both recognized locally and internationally. This is clearly evident with University of Malaya being recognized as the premier university in Malaysia. To place this is clear perspective, University of Malaya is the first and only university in Malaysia to be ranked in the “Academic Ranking World Universities (ARWU) 2012” and the highest Malaysian ranked university in the “QS World Ranking 2012/2013”.

This website also provides an overview of our research and researchers, the common research facilities available here in this faculty and the tools which would help our researchers continue to strive in the areas of modern medical, health and life sciences research.
